Bhote Koshi Flood Relief & Recovery — Nepal
On 26 August 2026 a flash flood tore down the Bhote Koshi River through the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts of Nepal. Lives were lost, families were displaced, and homes, roads, and bridges were destroyed. Many communities were left cut off, without electricity, reliable communication, or access to basic services.
KarmaFlights Foundation Nepal — Cloudbase Foundation's partner since the 2015 earthquake recovery — responded as a local first responder within days. With early support from CBF, their first phase reached displaced families in temporary holding centres across Nuwakot and Trishuli. A second mission from 7 to 10 September took a 15-person team and seven vehicles over damaged mountain roads into Thulo Gaun, Rasuwa, one of the hardest areas to reach, delivering more than 10 tons of food, bedding, tarpaulins, cooking utensils, and clothing to roughly 480 families.
Emergency relief is only the beginning. This appeal funds the next phase: continued relief for isolated households, with priority for families who lost their homes, children, the elderly, and other vulnerable households, and the start of longer-term restoration work. Every dollar is documented through beneficiary records, procurement and distribution records, photographs, and project reporting.
